DIY Pastel Easter Eggs

Easter is coming so I thought it would be nice to share this DIY with you guys! I think Easter is a great public holiday to get creative without making things complicated... Everybody can decorate eggs in their own way & there is so much inspiration to be found on Pinterest for instance! I made these cute Spring inspired pastel eggs with a water resistant marker, some fresh flowers, wool felt, lace ribbon & a couple of tiny fabric roses. The wooden egg-cups I bought at Dille & Kamille.

I used white eggs because they go great with pastels but off course you can use regular eggs as well! You can start with drawing some cute & simple faces on the eggs. If you mess up, just use another egg! After that you can cut several shapes from the wool felt. I made a little bow, a hat and scalloped tape to decorate the egg-cups. Now start dressing & decorating the eggs and egg-cups! For the "floral hair" I removed the top of two eggs and cleaned them, you can use them as a mini vase!

These pretty eggs will definitely brighten up you Easter breakfast or brunch! Enjoy!

Breakfast in Bed with Auping

At the end of 2014, I received a very nice email from the people at Auping. I was offered to test one of their duvet covers! I chose the "Perdita", a cotton flannel duvet cover with a black and white leopard print. When I received it, I immediately wanted to try it out! First, I had to get used to the cotton flannel but when I slept underneath this cover for a couple of nights, I started to enjoy it more and more. The fabric is very soft and comfortable, now I'm hooked! On top of that, the black & white leopard print looks great in our bedroom! Even more reason to stay inside, snuggle up, sleep late and have breakfast in bed during these cold & rainy days...

3 Ways to Wrap #2

I promised to give you more wrapping inspiration so here's my second theme "Sweet Pastel Wrapping"! I did some low budget shopping and found the round gift boxes, the coloured paper, tissue paper, ribbons & cotton yarn at Action. The sticky pom poms you can buy at the Ikea papershop and the paper punch I got at Pipoos. As you can see I made some oversized pastel confetti with the paper punch. Off course you could also use it inside a gift box to make it extra special or put it in a little envelope with a cute Christmas card! With the cotton yarn I made little pom poms and glued them onto one of the boxes. When you make little cuts in the lid of the box you can make a little star with the yarns as well!

Wrapping a gift can be so much fun and it makes the giving of the gift even better! Later this week I'll show you the third and last wrapping theme!
