A Happy Home: Pink Wall

Sometimes you have those very impulsive moments when you want to paint something... Last week I had such a moment when I decided to paint the wall in our dressing room pink! I still had some paint left from the Flexa workshop I gave at the Meet The Blogger conference in Amsterdam. For this wall I used the pink/peach colour by Flexa with the code D5.13.72 It's a beautiful colour that really warms up the whole room!

I didn't have to change a lot in this room because the items that were already there were matching great with the new pink wall... I think the different shades of wood blend in perfectly with this colour. On the wall there are pieces by Housedoctor, Marieke Veere and Roxanne Dekker. On my Ikea drawer there's the Trash Lamp, some boxes from Sostrene Grene & a small mirror by Ikea PS. The big mirror & the leather bag I found at the thrift store.

On the other side of the room you can see out vintage closet that we found on Marktplaats. On top of it there are some thrifted vintage vases that I love! On the floor there's a kelim that we bought at the Dutch festival Pinkpop at the Kiboots stand. The green magazine rack I bought a while ago at Urban Outfitters. The cute cacti illustrations are made by the talented Inge from Teken-ing and the calendar is from the lovely Darling Clementine

A Happy Home: Christmas 2015

Today my holiday officially started and I was very ready for some relaxation and slowing down a bit! I really love this time of the year and as always I'm enjoying my two weeks off. Every year I have lots of plans.... "The things I will do, make and finish in my holiday!!". Well you might recognize this, only one third of those plans will come through most of the time and I think this year won't be any different! I've decided, not tot be to hard on myself. After all, holidays are about being lazy and having fun right? I hope you will enjoy some lazy moments as well the next couple of days!

For now I'll share with you our Christmas home! Every year I add some new ornaments to my collection. I love the cacti ornaments from the Dutch brand &Klevering. In the smaller tree there are some diy ornaments that I made with plaster, paint and glitters. If you have any questions about things I used in my home, just leave a comment and I'll try to respond as soon as I can. If it's taking a little longer, I might be busy doing nothing...

A Happy Home

As an interior lover, I'm always looking for things in my home that I can change... Sometimes I get a little tired of myself but it's also so much fun! I'm constantly telling myself "when I change this or that, it will be finished!". But I'm afraid that moment will never come ;) I guess it's part of being creative right? And we're surrounded by beautiful inspiration through magazines, Social media and Pinterest! Anyhow, we've made a couple of changes in our home again. We took a short trip to Belgium during our holiday and we stayed in this lovely apartment in Antwerp! We rented a little bus & we made a tour visiting a lot of Thrift Shops. Luckily Evert is starting to appreciate this Thrift Shop thing that I have more and more. He spotted some beautiful things! It's great to do things like that together...

We found this cupboard as well and I decided to paint it pink, I'm in love with it! The rattan chair I bought a while ago at the thrift shop in my home town. The magazine rack I made from leather straps, you can find a lot of tutorials on Pinterest for this!

We also found this vintage dresser in Belgium (Evert spotted this one) and we thought it would look perfect in our living room! When I made my Plant Gang for a Urban Jungle Bloggers poster earlier, I loved my plants all together & decided to keep it this way. The terrarium I bought at the garden center.

I'm still very happy with our new hanging lamp from Habitat above the dining table! I think the origami effect is beautiful... The white retro vase is also a souvenir from Belgium. I've always had a thing for ceramics but lately I've developed another thing for retro vases and pottery, I love the shapes & the patterns!

The Flamingo poster was a gift for my birthday, it's now in our bedroom together with this mixture of accessories. I'm eager to get started on a project for our bedroom that I have in mind... I'll let you know when it's ready but I can assure you it will be different! The kelim in our dressing room is a souvenir from the Dutch festival Pinkpop, I'm in love with the colours! The calendar (which is on the wrong month but the print is awesome!) is from Darling Clementine and the cute cacti postcards are from the talented Dutch illustrator Ingrid with her brand Teken-ing, aren't they adorable?!

Don't forget; you Dutchies can still winn 2 tickets to the superfun Snor Festival here!

A Happy Home

Today I had a relaxing day at home so I made some new pictures. Summer is getting closer and it makes me so happy, everything & everyone looks better when the sun is shining! Last year I joined the "Dare with Colour" contest by Little Greene and I was the lucky winner of a voucher that I used for some beautiful Little Greene paint. One of the colours that I chose was Cupboard Green. With this colour I made a big triangle on the wall behind our dining table. The origami lamp we bought at Habitat in Antwerp last month, it fits perfectly in our living room I think!

A Happy Home

We made a couple of changes at home so I thought it was time for a couple of Happy Home snapshots! I found a big round wicker rug on Marktplaats (my latest addiction) which is now in our living room. I was a little scared for the rug to be ripped to pieces by our cats but so far it's still in one piece! Upstairs we made a few changes as well. We gave our "dressing room" a make-over by removing the wallpaper & painting the walls. We sold our Ikea closet & replaced it with two vintage pieces! The rug I found online at Urban Outfitters. We are very happy with our new dressing room since we spend quite some time in there, especially in the morning getting ready...

A Happy Home & A Happy New Year!

I'm really enjoying my holiday at the moment... The days are flying by though! Christmas was good and I can't let go of my decorations yet. The poster by Zilverblauw goes perfect with the rest of our interior, Evert suggested we should just leave it there even though Christmas is over! Tomorrow we will celebrate NYE with friends and think back on 2014. It was a great year with a lot to be thankful for. I'm looking forward to a new year, making new plans, setting goals...

I want to thank you for following My Attic, reading my posts & leaving sweet comments! Like every other blogger I have my bad moments sometimes (why am I doing this?) but the fact that you keep coming back to my blog gives me enough motivation to keep sharing my stuff!

I wish you all a fabulous 2015!!!
