Happy New Year!

When I think of New Years Eve, I think of gold! For my weekly post on vtwonen I bought myself some beautiful branches with a golden coating at the gardening centre. Because the colour of 2016 is Ochre Gold I used our bedroom wall as a backdrop which gives the gold an extra boost!

If you have planned a New Years Eve dinner or brunch you can use some golden twigs to decorate the table. I used my golden cutlery that was in my goodiebag at the Bolia.com opening event in Amsterdam (yay!). As you can see, with a little touch of gold, everything becomes more festive and NYE proof!

Colour of the year: Ochre Gold

A couple of weeks ago I got the opportunity to give a workshop with the new Flexa colours of 2016 at the Meet The Blogger Conference. The workshop was about creating a graphic artwork with tape and your favourite colour palette. It was so much fun and I was very impressed by the result of all the participants! You can read about it here. During the workshop, we also used the colour of the year "Ochre Gold", a very warm and strong colour that combines perfectly with light pastels or even dark earthy colours.

Again I had the great opportunity to work with Flexa. This time they asked me If I wanted to use Ochre Gold in my home, and so I did! I was already busy changing our bedroom so this was the perfect moment to give it a complete new look! After collecting and considering a lot of ideas, I decided to paint halve of the wall in Ochre Gold and finish it with a small yellow line.

I'm so happy with the result! It gives our bedroom a warm glow and I think it's a perfect match with our teak furniture & green plants! I still have a lot of ideas for some finishing touches of our bedroom like new curtains and some frames on the wall... But for now I'm very excited about his new look!

Create a graphic artwork with the Flexa colours of 2016!

The Meet The Blogger Conference in Amsterdam is coming up! Next weekend will be about inspiration, cool workshops, interesting speakers & off course a lot of catching up with fellow bloggers! I'm very exited because I'm hosting a workshop in collaboration with Flexa! During this workshop I will show you how to make a graphic artwork in 45 minutes with the new Flexa colours of 2016.

Flexa is presenting the new colour palettes of 2016 and the Colour Of The Year: Ochre Gold. Such a beautiful and warm colour! I had the privilege to already work with a selection of these new colours to create some graphic artworks as an inspiration for this workshop. I made three colour palettes, each of them including Ochre Gold. With these three palettes I made three graphic artworks. I used tape in 2 different widths & created a line pattern on a canvas. After that it's just a matter of filling up the pattern with your favorite colours! As you can see the Colour Of The Year, Ochre Gold, is a beautiful warm & earthly colour that combines easily with the other colours.
